Dewi Sant -- Saint David, from Llangennith church

Saint David’s Day treats…

Vue cinema will be screening ‘Don’t Take Me Home’: the inspiring story of the Wales football team’s battle through Euro 2016, screened for this one day only. https://www.myvue.com/cinema/swansea/film/dont-take-me-home/times

A full Festival Weekend in Swansea begins on the Feast Day itself, 1st March, with ‘Saints, Songs and Celebrations,’ 6.30pm in the Brangwyn Hall, where children from many local schools will be entertaining with music, singing and dance. This is a ticketed event.

The weekend continues with the Croeso Food and Drink Festival in the town centre, taking over Princess Way, Castle Square and Oxford Street with local producers selling homemade produce, and also cooking demonstrations including one from Great British Bake Off winner Paul Jagger. All this is happening over Friday and Saturday, 10am-4pm. The Castle Square stage will be all live music and local bands. All this is free and unticketed.

Meanwhile … the Saturday, 3rd March sees the annual Parêd Dewi wending its colourful way through the city centre from 2.30pm, with carnival floats, choirs and bands and all the excitement of a parade! http://www.enjoyswanseabay.com/croeso

There’s lots to do and enjoy this Saint David’s Day and the weekend after, so see you in town!
